Renewed bombardment | Turkish rocket and artillery shells hit areas north-west Al-Hasakah

SOHR activists have reported intensive rocket and artillery fire by Turkish forces stationed at their bases in “Peace Spring” area, which targeted Al-Tawilah village and its surrounding in Tel Tamr countryside, north-west of Al-Hasakah. However, no casualties have been reported.

This bombardment comes as part of the daily escalation and shelling by Turkish forces and “National Army” factions.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on an Al-Asayesh building in the centre of Abo Rasen (Zarkan) district north-western of Al-Hasakah, damaging the building. Meanwhile, the communication services are cut off in the area.

This coincided with extensive ground shelling and displacement of residents towards safer areas following the Turkish military escalation and damages to public institutions.

Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on a cellular communications tower in Abo Rasen town (Zarkan), cutting communication services off to the residents.

SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces shelled the centre of Abo Rasen town, Al-Boby and Dada Abdal villages.

Moreover, Turkish forces shelled Al-Tawela and Tel Tawil villages in Tel Tamr countryside, north-western of Al-Hasakah.

Reliable SOHR sources reported intensive rocket and artillery fire by Turkish forces and factions of the “National Army” on the Assyrian village of Tel Taweel and Al-Tawilah and Sukkar Al-Ohaymar villages in the western countryside of Tel Tamr in north-western Al-Hasakah. However, no further details were reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent bombardment.

This coincided with propaganda by Turkish media outlets about the imminent incursion into SDF-held areas in north Syria region by Turkish forces and their proxy factions.
