Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that Russian warplanes have fired an air-to-air missile into areas controlled by “Peace Spring” operations room in Al-Hasakah countryside in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Russian aircraft have flown over areas held by SDF, specifically Abu Rasin (Zarkan), then fly over areas under the control of Ankara-backed factions, launching an air-to-air missile.

On May 27, SOHR sources reported that a Russian fighter jet fired an air-to-air missile on the frontline of Tel Abyad in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah.

According to SOHR sources, several Russian fighter jets took off from Hmeimim airbase in Latakia countryside, where they flew over Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah countryside before one of them fired that missile. This is the second incident of its kind in 24 hours.

However, SOHR was unable to verify if the airstrike was executed by a Russian or International Coalition fighter jet.

Moreover, Russian fighter jets carried out three rounds of airstrikes with six air-to-air missiles in the airspace of Tel Abyad and Ras Al-Ain areas in “Peace Spring” area.

SOHR sources also reported that the “Peace Spring” area and areas controlled by SDF, which are close to the frontlines in the countryside of Aleppo, Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah experienced frequent flights by fighter jets on Wednesday evening and on Thursday dawn. However, the identities of the fighter jets remained unknown.
