Joint exercises | “Maghawer Al-Thawra” and “International Coalition” forces exercise in 55 kilometer zone at Iraqi-Jordanian-Syrian borders

SOHR activists have reported that the “International Coalition” forces have fired flare grenades near Al-Tanf base that holds the Coalition forces in the 55 kilometer zone at the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian borders.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the Coalition forces conducted joint military exercises with Maghawer Al-Thawra, which is affiliated to the free army (Al-Jaish Al-Hor) in the region.

On May 18, SOHR sources reported seeing a US convoy crossing into Syria from Jordan. The convoy comprised 15 trucks carrying logistical supplies, escorted by four Hummer vehicles with US flags installed on them. The convoy entered Al-Tanaf base in the 55-kilometre zone, near the Iraq-Syria-Jordan border.

On May 8, SOHR activists monitored two “International Coalition” helicopters flying over Al-Rukban camp near the Jordan-Iraqi-Syrian borders. According to reliable SOHR sources, the helicopters were flying at low altitude in a circular motion two consecutive times for nearly half an hour, before leaving Syrian territory to Jordan, without knowing the reasons. It is worth noting that this was the first incident of its kind.
