Turkish offensive l Heavy artillery shells hit five villages, north of Aleppo

SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces stationed at Thulthanah base in Marea city, north of Aleppo have fired artillery shells on Al-Sha’alah, Zawyan villages and the outskirts of Umm Al-Hosh and Umm Al-Qura in northern Aleppo countryside.

Moreover, Turkish forces have shelled Aqibah village in Shirawa district of Afrin countryside, where Kurdish and regime forces are deployed. No further details have been reported about the number of casualties and material damage caused by Turkish attack.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, two Russian helicopters flew along the frontlines between the National Army, Kurdish forces and regime forces.

The two helicopters flew over villages adjacent to Al-Bab city, east of Aleppo, to the villages of Umm Al-Hosh, Harbel and Ahris in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that regime forces brought in new military reinforcement to the western countryside of Al-Darbasiyyah in northern Al-Hasakah, near the Syria-Turkey border, from Al-Qamishli city.

According to SOHR sources, a regime “Zil vehicle” carrying soldiers and escorted by Russian forces arrived in the western countryside of Al-Darbasiyyah. The recently-arrived soldiers are expected to be deployed at regime posts along the Syria-Turkey border.

Meanwhile, six Russian helicopters were seen flying over the region. Also, fighter jets were flying over the area from Al-Darbasiyyah to the eastern and northern countryside of Tel Tamr, near the Syria-Turkey border.

Yesterday morning, Observatory sources reported the arrival of military reinforcement of regime forces and Iranian-backed militias in the villages and towns of Al-Ziyarah, Deir Jamal, Kharibkah, Ibbin, Maranaz and Mengh military airbase, where Kurdish and regime forces are deployed, north of Aleppo. The reinforcement included rocket launchers, heavy artillery pieces, armoured personnel carriers and buses carrying soldiers.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the reinforcement was deployed along the frontlines with Turkish forces and “National Army” factions in north Aleppo countryside and Shirawa district in Afrin countryside.
