For “not getting diesel licenses” | Gunmen attack building of Central Area Council in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that a group of residents of Al-Busayra city in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, attacked the building of the Central Area Council in the city and clashed with the guards, for “not receiving diesel licenses”. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

SOHR activists reported that members of Al-Kubaysah tribe took control of a SDF Military Council in Deir Ezzor near Al-Rai bridge in Al-Sabhah town, east of Deir Ezzor, and seized a military vehicle and some weapons.

Al-Kubaysah members set fire to public facilities and SDF military posts in Basirah village, east of Deir Ezzor. The members of Al-Kubasyah also deployed in the villages and towns overlooking Al-Khabour river, including Al-Basirah, Al-Sabha, Barshim, Harizeh and Al-Hijnah, in protest against raid campaigns and arrests

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the tension rose in the area due to carrying out arrests campaigns of a number of suspects by SDF patrols for sabotaging electrical transformers that operate water stations and attacking the irrigation canal in Al-Khabur in the village of Barshim and Harizeh, north of Deir Ezzor this morning

However, A number of detainees managed to escape and attack SDF checkpoints along with the rest of their Al-Kubaysah relatives.

Meanwhile, a group of dignitaries from Deir Ezzor countryside went to the house of SDF commander of Deir Ezzor Military Council to start negotiations to calm the situation in the villages in Khat Al-Khabur in the eastern and northern areas of Deir Ezzor.

This initiative by dignitaries came in the wake of growing tension in the area and the killing of two SDF members.
