Tribal fighting | Tension rises between regime-backed tribesmen and others backed by Iranian militias, near Al-Bokamal border city with Iraq in Deir Ezzor countryside

SOHR sources reported that tribal tension in Al-Hari village near Al-Bokamal village on Iraq border in Deir Ezzor countryside continues for the second consecutive day between Al-Hassoun tribesmen who are affiliated with regime “Military security” and Al-Jaghayfah tribe which is close to Iraqi “Popular Mobilization Forces.”

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the tension between the two tribes has developed into armed clashes, leaving at least a tribesman killed and a number of people injured.

These clashes have been followed by ongoing deployment and mobilisation by the two tribes. However, the causes of igniting this fighting have remained unknown.
