Dust storm | Little girl dies and another girl and a man of the same family injured in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani)

A dust storm has been striking a large part of Syrian territory, causing considerable damage and losses.

 

In this context, a little girl died and her brother and her mother were injured seriously following the collapse of a wall this evening near their house in “Martyr Bayman” neighbourhood in the east of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo due to the storm.

 

It is worth noting that this is the third dust storm since mid-May. The recent storm concentrated in Al-Raqqah province, parts of Aleppo, Hama, Deir Ezzor, Idlib and Al-Hasakah.

 

Meanwhile, medics have warned patients who suffer from asthma to take care and follow instruction, because of the intensity of the storm and extreme hot weather.

 

On May 23, SOHR activists reported that a young man suffered fractures and bruises due to the collapse of an old wall in Al-Mayadeen city in east Deir Ezzor countryside. Moreover, at least 20 suffocation cases were recorded in one of the city hospitals, as a result of the dust storm in the area and resulting heavy air current.

 

While in mid-May, SOHR sources reported that seven people, including two children and a woman, died of suffocation due to the strong dust storm that struck areas in eastern Syria in Deir Ezzor province due to. This dust storm left nearly 200 people, including women and children, injured.
