Meningitis prevails in Al-Raqqah | Hundreds of cases receive treatment in private and general hospitals

Since mid-May, Al-Raqqah city and countryside have experienced the emerging of many cases suffering from meningitis. In the beginning, several cases of young children have been documented in the maternity hospital, before many other cases were documented in the national hospitals in Al-Raqqah, the Red Crescent hospital and Al-Sawsan.

According to SOHR sources, the number of cases documented since early June has exceeded 600 of those who were diagnosed in the major hospitals in the city: the national hospital, the modern medicine hospital, the Red Crescent hospital and Al-Sawsan dispensary.

Meanwhile, no international medical organisations have provided any support to curb the spread of the dangerous disease.
