En route to Jordan | “Free Syria Army” confiscates shipment of captagon illicit tablets on Syria border

SOHR sources have reported that members of the “Free Syria Army” confiscated a shipment of nearly 70,000 captagon tablets in the 55 kilometre de-confliction zone in the border area between Syria, Jordan and Iraq.

It is worth noting that drug shipments en route to Jordan had confiscated on many occasions in that area.

The “Free Syria Army” conduct frequent patrols, with coordination with International Coalition Forces, on the Syria-Jordan border to detect drug smuggling operations.

On March 31, SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted on the previous day in the Syrian desert near the borders between Syria and Jordan between two armed groups working in “smuggling drugs” in Jalghim area near Al-Hammad, due to disputes over a huge batch of drugs.

This coincided with mobilization of security and military units deployed in the region, where the clashes left seven people killed, four of which belonged to a local group that belongs to the Military Intelligence Department, and three others belonged to the second group that belongs to the Air-Force Intelligence.
