ISIS attack | Three Iranian-backed fighters and civilian killed in Deir Ezzor desert on June 2

SOHR sources have revealed the identity of the deaths in an attack waged by ISIS fighters that targeted a bus in Al-Shula desert in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The fatalities are as follows: Three soldiers who work with Iranian-backed militias and carry personal cards issued by regime’s security services “as a camouflaging measure” and a civilian who was on the bus.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the fighters are from Hama, Homs and Al-Raqqah provinces and they were in civilian clothes in the bus on their way home to spend their vacations, when ISIS fighters attacked the bus carrying civilians and fighters.

ISIS attack also have left 20 people who were on the bus, including civilians and military personnel, injured

 

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2022 has increased to 217; and they are as follows:
• 112 ISIS members were killed in Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor, and Aleppo.

• 104 soldiers of regime forces and their proxy militias were killed in 41 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in western Euphrates and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
