Turkey’s “safe zone” | “Amshat” faction arrests three civilians in Afrin countryside to collect ransoms
SOHR activists have reported that on June 4, members of Al-Sultan Sulayman Shah “Amshat” faction kidnapped three civilians from Sheikh Al-Hadid district for “dealing with Autonomous-Administration during its control over Afrin. “Amshat” members asked the detainees’ families to pay ransom for their release.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that members of an “Al-Sultan Solayman Shah” patrol arrested a woman without pressing charges in late May, for the third time for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”
On the other hand, “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyah” faction released two civilians from Idlib for a ransom of 1,500 USDs for each civilian, who was arrested on May 29 for “belonging to ISIS.”
In the same context, gunmen driving a military vehicle kidnapped a civilian from Qarzihal village in Shirawa district on May 26, and took him to an unknown destination. His fate is still unknown to this day.
