Second suicide in two weeks | Undergraduate hangs himself in Al-Hasakah city

Al-Hasakah province: A student at a medicine college committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in Al-Mushayrifah neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah city, but the motives and causes of suicide remain unknown.

This comes in light of the alarming increase in suicide rate across Syria, for economic, social and psychological reasons.

It is the second suicide in two weeks.

On May 18, SOHR activists reported that a civilian committed suicide by shooting himself in Al-Hasakah countryside. According to local sources, the civilian is a teacher and suffers from a mental illness. The man committed suicide in Al-Akr village in Tel Birak district in Al-Hasakah countryside.
