Military escalation | Turkish intensive artillery and rocket shells hit Manbij countryside, while Turkish-backed “Samarkand” militiaman killed on Al-Bab outskirts

SOHR activists have reported artillery and rocket fire by Turkish forces and their proxy factions in the early hours of Tuesday morning, targeting the villages of Al-Jat, Qurt, and Wiran, north-east of Manbij, in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

Turkish forces have also fired rockets and artillery shells on the villages of Al-Kawkali, Korhiuk, Jabal Al-Hamra, Al-Bughaz, and Al-Fawares farms, west of Manbij. No further details of the number of casualties or material damages have been reported.

Meanwhile, a “Samarkand” member was killled and others were injured when the faction military vehicle was hit by a guided missile fired from regime and SDF of Al-Bab Military Council forces on the frontline of Al-Kuridiyah village in the countryside of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo.

Furthermore, the frontlines between “National Army” factions on one hand, and SDF military forces and regime forces on the other hand have seen overflight by Russian helicopters since the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Yesterday evening, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions carried out artillery shelling on Al-Jat village, north-east of Manbij city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
This shelling coincided with mutual shelling between Turkish-backed factions and SDF forces on the outskirts of Al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo countryside.
