New assassination | Unidentified gunmen shoot commander of local faction dead in Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a commander of a local faction of the 4th Division, where unidentified gunmen directly shot him near Jalin town in the western countryside of Daraa.

It is worth noting that the commander survived several assassination attempts, and he hails from Tafs city in western Daraa countryside, and was a commander of an opposition faction before undergoing reconciliation on 2018.

Since early 2022, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 240, which left 194 people dead; and they are as follows:

• 93 civilians, including two women and four children.

• 79 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

• 11 former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

• An ex-ISIS member.

• Seven unidentified people.

• Three militiamen of the Russian-backed 5th Corps.
