Fourth anniversary of Zardana massacre | Russian warplane shells public market, killing 44 civilians

SOHR renews its calls for holding to account all criminals, perpetrators of violations and all those who aided and abetted killing of Syrian people, mainly Al-Assad’s regime

Today marks the fourth anniversary for the massacre committed on June 7, 2018, in a market in Zardana town in Idlib countryside committed by a Russian warplane.

According to reliable SOHR sources, 44 civilians were killed in the massacre including a member of rescue team, at least ten women and five children all documented by their names.

Moreover, the attack caused destruction of commercial stores and nearby residential houses.

On the fourth anniversary of the massacre, we, at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), renew our appeals to all international actors, the international community and the UN Security Council to intervene immediately and put an end to the Syrian conflict and the suffering of the Syrian people and call upon them not to abandon their responsibility and obligations to find a lasting solution to the tragedy of millions of Syrians.

We also renew our calls for opening a non-politicised investigation by an independent international commission of inquiry on all massacres committed and bringing all criminals, perpetrators and all those who aided and abated such heinous crimes throughout Syria to justice.
