Renewed shelling | Turkish forces shell areas in NW Al-Hasakah countryside after four days of caution calm

Al-Hasakah province: Syrian Observatory activists have reported a rocket attack carried out by Turkish forces and their factions on Wednesday afternoon, targeting Al-Tawilah village in Tel Tamr countryside, north-west of Al-Hasakah.

Turkish rocket attack has been followed by ground shelling by SDF on areas controlled by Operations Room factions “Peace Spring” in the vicinity of the region. No casualties have been reportedso far.

The shelling has been renewed after a cautious calm prevailed in the countryside of Al-Hasakah for nearly four days.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that for the third consecutive day, cautious calm prevailed in the northern and north-western countryside of Al-Hasakah countryside.

Meanwhile, Russian forces conduct patrols daily near the frontlines in the area from Abu Rasin/Zarkan countryside north to Tel Tamr south and reaching Al-Alyah area north-west of Al-Hasakah.

This coincided with the daily flight by Russian warplanes and helicopters over the area.

On June 6, SOHR activists reported that for the second consecutive day, the areas in the northern and north-western countryside of Al-Hasakah saw cautious calm imposed by the Russians amid a sharp decline in artillery and rocket shelling from Al-Darbasiyah countryside through Tel Tamr countryside and into Abu Rasin/Zarkan countryside.

This cautious calm came following the injury of six regime soldiers by Turkish ground bombardment on Umm Al-Kif village in Tel Tamr countryside, north-west of Al-Hasakah, On May 4, after the majority of the population of the region was displaced to safer areas.

It is worth noting that the above-mentioned areas are witnessing daily flights by Russian helicopters and warplanes. However, no rocket shells hit any of these areas. This came after heavily and continuously shelling on these areas for over 20 days.
