Armed fighting | Violent clashes between armed groups of “Military Intelligence” and “counter-terrorism forces” group in Al-Suwaydaa countryside ignite state of panic among people

Al-Suwaydaa province: SOHR sources have reported that violent clashes have broken out in Khazmah village in south-eastern Al-Suwaydaa countryside between an armed group of regime security service of “Military Intelligence Branch” and another armed group of counter-terrorism forces.

These violent clashes have erupted because regime security service of “Military Intelligence Branch” has accused members of “counter-terrorism forces” of stealing a car over the past hours, amid appeals by residents to stop the fighting and violent clashes.

These clashes have also ignited a state of panic among people.

On June 4, SOHR activists reported that an armed group of the regime’s “Military Intelligence Branch” from Al-Suwaydaa established checkpoints on the international highway between Damascus and Al-Suwaydaa, near Salim town and detained several officers and regime soldiers while they were passing on the highway.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the armed group arrested them to pressure the regime security services to release a detainee from Al-Suwaydaa from their prisons in Damascus.
