Affected by his wounds | An officer dies following landmine explosion near oil field in Syrian desert

SOHR activists have documented the death of a regime’s officer ranked as colonel, affected by the wounds he sustained earlier this morning due to the explosion of a landmine in the vicinity of Al-Taim oil field in the Syrian desert in Deir Ezzor countryside on the highway between Deir Ezzor and Damascus.

SOHR activists have documented the injury of regime-backed Al-Qatarji militiamen in the explosion of an old landmine, while they were on an inspection tour and combing operation near Al-Taym oil field in Deir Ezzor countryside on Deir Ezzor-Damascus road.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2022 has increased to 218; and they are as follows:
• 112 ISIS members were killed in Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor, and Aleppo.

• 105 soldiers of regime forces and their proxy militias were killed in 42 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in western Euphrates and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
