Fake news | SOHR denies circulated news about mass civilian exodus from Manbij following reports of potential Turkish military operation

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported rocket fire by Turkish forces and their proxy factions on Thursday morning, targeting areas in Al-jat village in Manbij countryside, north-east of Aleppo. No casualties have been reported.

The Syrian Observatory sources have also denied the news reported by some media outlets, websites on social media about a large displacement movement from Manbij area in areas controlled by Manbij Military Council forces.

SOHR sources have confirmed that there were no displacements, but that there was a popular fear that Turkish forces would launch a military operation.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the injury of two regime soldiers, where Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on a military checkpoint in Tel Torin village in Manbij countryside eastern of Aleppo, and shelled Al-Jat village.

On the other hand, Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on Al-Dabs and Hoshan villages in Ain Eissa countryside northern of Al-Raqqa.

Yesterday morning, SOHR activists reported that regime forces brought military reinforcements to regime-held areas in southern Manbij countryside in eastern Aleppo countryside.

The reinforcements comprised tanks, heavy weapons and nearly 500 soldiers and deployed near Tel Aswad and Haimar Al-Jaish villages in area adjacent to regime-held areas with SDF.
