Syrian desert | Russian fighter jets attack ISIS positions in Al-Hammad desert
SOHR sources have reported that Russian fighter jets executed nearly eight airstrikes on ISIS positions and hideouts in Al-Hammad desert, near the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border triangle. However, no further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent attack.
Accordingly, the number of airstrikes carried out by Russian fighter jets on ISIS positions and hideouts in the Syrian desert since early June 2022 has risen to nearly 166. Moreover, regime fighter jets has executed 36 airstrikes in the same period.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that ISIS members gathered at a valley near “Al-Qaryah Al-Namozajyah” in Jabal Al-Amor in Palmyra in the eastern desert of Homs, which is under the control of Iranian-backed militias and regime forces. According to Syrian Observatory sources, there were a dozen of ISIS members gathered in an area which is located at least 30 kilometres to the north of Palmyra. Meanwhile, the real reasons behind the public gathering of ISIS members remained unknown.
It is worth noting that the civilians in that area displaced, taking their livestock, to Al-Farqalas area, fearing possible military operations or aerial bombardment following the significant increase in the activity of ISIS.
