Old ordnance | Nearly 40 farmers killed and injured in landmine explosion in a car, north of Daraa

SOHR activists have documented the death of five civilians as a preliminary toll and the injury of nearly 34 others due to the explosion of a landmine by a car carrying wheat-harvesting workers in Deir Al-Adas town in the northern countryside of Daraa.

The death toll is believed to rise as there are some people who sustained critical injuries.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 118 civilians, including six women and 48 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 177 civilians, including nine women and 89 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
