Arbitrary arrests | “4th Division” checkpoint on Homs-Al-Raqqah highway arrests civilian from Palmyra
Members of “4th Division” headed by the brother of the president of the Syrian regime, Maher Al-Assad, stationed at a checkpoint on Homs-Al-Raqqah highway have arrested a civilian from Palmyra in eastern homs countryside and have taken him to an unknown destination, SOHR activists reported.
This arrest comes in light of arbitrary arrests carried out by regime members at checkpoints and security branch patrols in regime-held areas.
On June 6, SOHR activists reported that regime Military Security Branch of the Military Intelligence had summoned four young men from Palmyra and arrested them after leaving with their families A-Rukban camp in the eastern desert of Syria at Syria-Iraq-Jordan triangle border. The fate of the four victims remained unknown.
