Factional infighting | Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah clashes with Al-Mu’tasim Division north of Aleppo and Turkish forces intervene to stop fighting

SOHR activists have reported that a Turkish military convoy headed to Al-Kaa’iba village in Akhtarin countryside north of Aleppo to intervene and stop the violent clashes that erupted between Al-Mu’tasim Division and Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah faction in Al-Kaa’ibah village in rural Akhtarin.

The clashes erupted over an attempt by Al-Mu’tasim Division to arrest a member of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah accused of “communicating with regime and Kurdish forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo.”

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the clashes left a young man from Al-Kaa’ibah injured.

On June 6, SOHR activists monitored clashes with machineguns in the residential areas of Al-Bab city “The Safe zone” in Aleppo countryside between gunmen from “Shokry” family on one hand and “Hajo” family on the other hand, due to disputes over the entrance of smuggled materials coming from regime-held areas to Al-Bab city via members of the “National Army”, injuring a person with stray bullets, amid a state of panic and fear among local residents despite appeals by the residents to the police to interfere, however the police did not take any actions.
