ISIS resurgence | Unidentified gunmen target SDF commander in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that unidentified gunmen have opened fire towards a commander of the SDF-backed Deir Ezzor Military Council in Al-Shahil town eastern of Deir Ezzor. However, no information about any injuries was reported yet.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the gunmen are believed to be ISIS members.
On the same context, the security checkpoints in Al-Shahil were alerted and executed patrols to search for the gunmen in the region.
On June 13, SOHR activists documented the injury of an SDF member, where unidentified gunmen shot him while he was with another member near Euphrates river between Al-Tayana and Al-Shinan areas in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
On June 10, SOHR activists documented the death of a member of SDF in Al-Basira city eastern of Deir Ezzor, when unidentified gunmen believed to be ISIS members shot him dead.
In another operation, other gunmen believed to be ISIS members shot a member of SDF in Al-Basira city in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, injuring him and injuring a civilian who was with him, amid reports of the death of the injured member.
