Factional disputes in “Peace Spring” areas | Two members of Turkish-backed factions injured in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye)

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented the injury of two people, one is an officer and the other is a member of the Turkish-backed Al-Hamza Division, where unidentified gunmen on a motorbike shot them directly in the centre of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), following infighting that took place yesterday between gunmen of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” and others of “Al-Hamza”, due to disputes between them over seizure of civilians’ houses by members of Al-Hamza Division.

On May 30, SOHR activists reported that the Turkish-backed Al-Sultan Murad faction sold a house that they overtook during the “Peace Spring” operation in 2019.

The house belonged to a displaced civilian from Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kanye) in Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to reliable SOHR sources, members of Al-Hamza Division bought the house for 5,000 USDs, and turned it to an assembly checkpoint for people that want to head to Turkey via smuggling.

Moreover, SOHR sources explained that the Turkish-backed factions sell overtaken houses that they call “loot”, for displaced civilians from other Syrian areas.
