Renewed bombardment | Turkish forces shell Kurdish positions and target area hosts Russian military base north of Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces have fired shells on areas in Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo which houses a Russian military base in the early hours of Friday morning.

Turkish forces have shelled areas where Kurdish forces have been deployed in the vicinity of Marea and Maranaz, north of Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported.

Meanwhile, Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions have exchange medium and heavy machine-guns on the frontline of Al-Sheikh Issa.

On June 15, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions fired heavy artillery and mortar shells on the vicinity of Al-Mohsenli village, north of Manbij in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

Moreover, SOHR activists reported artillery and rocket fire by Turkish forces on Aqiba village in Shirawa district, the vicinity of Kafr Anton village, Mengh military airport and the vicinity of Tel Qarah village in the northern countryside of Aleppo in areas controlled by Kurdish forces. No further details were reported about the number of casualties and the damage caused by the attack.

On June 13, SOHR activists reported artillery shelling by Turkish forces stationed at Al-Thulthana base in Marea, north of Aleppo, targeting the area of Tel Qarah village in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

This shelling coincided with the shelling of Abyan in Shirawa district. No further details about the number of casualties and the damage.
