Violent fighting | Five Turkish-backed militiamen killed and injured in rural Ras Al-Ain/Sere Kanye, north-west of Al-Hasakah

Violent clashes among Ankara-backed factions triggered the exodus of all displaced people from Tel Diab village

SOHR activists have reported that violent fighting with heavy weapons and RPGs has erupted between Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah faction on one side and the “20th Division” and the “Al-Hamza Division” faction on the other in Tel Diab village in Ras Al-Ain/Sere Kanye countryside.

The violent fighting has triggered the displacement of people from Tel Diab village and left two militiamen dead and three others seriously injured.

Moreover, Al-Hamza Division has also seized headquarters and posts of Ahrar Al-Sharqqiyah faction.

The fighting has intensified at “Al-Kaziya,” checkpoint, and a number of Ahrar Al-Sharqiya members have defected and joined the “Al-Hamza Division.”

This fresh infighting comes in light of the ongoing conflict and rivalry between Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah and Al-Hamza Division factions for more than a month to seize and impose control of the petrol station and agricultural land whose inhabitants were previously displaced due to the blatant violations by “National Army”-backed factions.

SOHR sources have just reported that Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction has managed to control villages, which had the majority of Kurds, in Tel Batal and Abla in Al-Bab countryside, east of Aleppo, after fierce clashes with heavy and medium machineguns between splinter groups from Ahrar Al-Sham faction and Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction.

According to SOHR activists, Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah militiamen have cordoned off the villages of Ablah and Tel Batal on Saturday morning, and then stormed the headquarters of Ahrar Al-Sham faction.

After fierce clashes, Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah fighters managed to control most of the headquarters of Ahrar Al-Sham and arrested a number of Ahrar al-Sham militiamen. All the fighters of the two factions withdraw to the outskirts of the villages.

Ahrar Al-Sham faction has deployed their fighters in Al-Bab city, while Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction has brought in large military reinforcements of tanks and heavy guns with 57 shoots from Azaz city to Al-Bab.

The reasons for the clashes, which caused the death of a militiaman of Ahrar al-Sham and the injury of a number of other militiamen, remain unknown.
