Amid military drills in “Peace Spring” areas | Turkish forces renew shelling village in Tel Tamr countryside

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces started a new round of artillery and rocket fire on Tawilah village in Tel Tamr countryside in north-western Al-Hasakah. The Turkish bombardment caused material damage to civilian properties.

 

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported that since the early hours of Saturday morning, Turkish-backed factions conducted live-fire exercises, in the presence of Turkish officers, in eastern Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye) in Al-Hasakah countryside in “Peace Spring” area near the frontlines with areas controlled by SDF and regime forces west of Abu Rasin.

 

This military exercises came as part of Turkey’s escalation and the potential military operation in areas controlled by SDF.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on positions in Al-Tawela village in Tel Tamr countryside western of Al-Hasakah. However, no casualties were reported. This came after 12 days of calmness in these areas, since June 4.
