Ongoing violations in Afrin | “National Army” factions continue assaults, imposition of royalties and seizure of residents’ properties

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah faction assaulted a civilian from Sandyanka village in Jinderes district, took his motorbike and cellular phone and insulted him, without knowing the reasons.

Regarding violations against residents of Afrin and seizure of their properties, members of Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyah faction sold a house in Afrin Al-Qadima neighbourhood for 3,000 USDs to a displaced person from Al-Hasakah. The house belonged to a civilian from Qasim in Bulbul district.

Moreover, members of Al-Sultan Murad faction took over a residential building containing nine appartments in Afrin on June 16. The building belonged to a civilian from Ba’danly village in Rajo district after pressuring the building onwer by imposing large royalties and threatening him, forcing him to leave Afrin and head towards Aleppo to protect himself and his family.

Al-Hamza Division faction imposed royalties on farmers in Al-Basota and Ain Darah villages under the pretext of “protecting their properties from theives”, where the royalty valued nearly 300 USDs.
