Family clashes | Member of Deir Ezzor Military Council shoots two civilians dead in Deir Ezzor

SOHR activists have reported that a member of the SDF-backed Deir Ezzor Military Council shot two civilians dead in Deir Ezzor in Al-Hosan village in Deir Ezzor countryside due to family clashes. The member is the victims’ cousin.

On the same context, an armed group attacked Al-Hawayej hospital western of Deir Ezzor to avenge the victims and kill the member, before he fled to an unknown destination.

SOHR activists monitored tribal tension between cousins of Al-Bakara family in Al-Hosan and Mohaimaida villages western of Deir Ezzor.

On June 14, SOHR activists documented casualties in tribal and family clashes in SDF-held areas, where two brothers were killed and nearly ten people injured in Um Adasa Al-Farat village in Manbij countryside eastern of Aleppo, in disputes that escalated to clashes with weapons.

On the other hand, several civilians were injured in armed clashes between Al-Okaidat tribe in Jadid Bakara and Jadid Okaidat towns eastern of Deir Ezzor, following previous disputes among civilians, amid appeals by civilians to dignitaries of the region to interfere and stop the clashes.

On June 12, two civilians were injured during a tribal infighting which erupted today in SDF-held areas in Deir Ezzor countryside.

According to SOHR sources, a dispute ignited between members of Ekayddat tribe and a group of Jadidat Bakara tribes’ members and evolved into clashes. While each side amassed more troops, amid appeals to dignitaries of Deir Ezzor tribes and military formations in the area to interfere and break up the clashes.

On June 8, SOHR activists reported a new tribal fight in SDF-held areas, east of Euphrates, where clashes erupted between gunmen from two families in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The clashes left several people injured, and they were taken to Al-Shuhayl general surgery hospital.
