Increasing cases of abandoned children | Residents find newborn baby in Aleppo city

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that residents have found a newborn girl dumped near Al-Hasob garden in Aleppo Al-Jadidah neighbourhood in Aleppo city, in regime-held areas.

According to reliable SOHR sources, two women left the baby near the chamber of the garden’s guard and then fled away.

Local sources managed to identify the baby after investigations, and handed it to the father.

Moreover, the two women were identified as the baby’s mother and aunt who have been missing from their house for nearly a month.

Accordingly, the number of abandoned new-born babies documented by SOHR in regime-controlled areas since early 2022 has reached 21.

SOHR sources have reported that a new-born baby was found dumped near a bread bakery in Al-Sahari neighbourhood in Daraa city. The baby was taken to Daraa national hospital.
