Having returned recently to Syria | Local authorities arrest civilian for killing his son in Daraa countryside

SOHR sources have reported that local authorities in Latakia arrested a suspect accused of killing his in Daraa countryside. During investigations, the man confessed to beating his three children with a stick and a rubber hose for “stealing copper wires,” which led to the death of one of the children because of the violent beating. After the incident, the man fled Daraa to Damascus, then he left Syria, before he returned again to Syria this month and arrested in Latakia.

 

On February 8, SOHR activists reported the death of a 12 year-old boy with special needs in Al-Sanmin city northern of Daraa province on February 3, after his father held him in a small room and beat him for several days.

 

According to SOHR sources, the murderer buried his son to cover up his crime after his death was announced on February 4. The man escaped from the village after his crime was unveiled.
