SOHR | “Media reports of Russian forces withdrawal from Tel Refaat untrue”

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have denied news circulated by media agencies and webpages mostly loyal to Turkish government, about the withdrawal of Russian forces from Tel Refaat area in northern Aleppo countryside, where Kurdish and regime forces are stationed, where these news lie under the frame of the media propaganda by Ankara-backed agencies Amid reports by Turkish media about launching a new military operation by Turkish forces.
According to reliable SOHR sources, Russian forces, contrary to belief, recently reinforced their positions and checkpoints in different areas in northern Aleppo countryside and in northern and eastern of Syria.

On June 17, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces fired shells on areas in Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo which houses a Russian military base.

Turkish forces shelled areas where Kurdish forces had been deployed in the vicinity of Marea and Maranaz, north of Aleppo. However, no casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions exchanged medium and heavy machine-guns on the frontline of Al-Sheikh Issa.
