Death toll update | Six people killed in bloody fight among cousins in SDF-controlled areas

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented more casualties in the armed family infighting in Ghazila village southern to Al-Qahtaniyah (Torba Sabih) area north eastern of Al-Hasakah, where the number of people killed of Al-Jawala tribe has risen to six, with more potential casualties due to presence of severe injuries in the infighting between cousins of the same tribe, including a civilian, his son and his brother, following disputes over agricultural lands.

Earlier this morning, SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted between two groups of cousins from Al-Jawwalah tribe in Ghuzaylah village in the south of Al-Qahtaniyah area (Tirbespi) in the north-east of Al-Hasakah province. The clashes left two people dead and six others injured, three of whom sustained serious injuries. The casualties had been transported to Al-Salam hospital in Al-Qamishli city.

According to SOHR sources, the clashes followed disputes over the possession of farmlands.

It is worth noting that SDF-controlled areas experience periodical family and tribal infightings, mostly over earlier disagreements. On many occasions, these infightings and clashes left casualties, before reaching conciliation between the conflicting parties.
