Escalating suicide cases | Child kills himself in Afrin, north western of Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that a 13 years-old child from Afrin has committed suicide in “Olive Branch” area in north western Aleppo countryside by consuming a “gas pill”, that led to his death after he was transported to a hospital in the area, without knowing the reasons behind his actions.

This comes in light of the increasing cases of suicide in different areas of Syria, due to social, economic and physiological pressures.

SOHR activists reported that a 14-year-old girl, who is from Maidan Ikbas in Raju district in Afrin countryside, committed suicide by hanging herself in her relatives’ house in Maidan Ikbas. However, the motives for suicide remained unknown, and the girl is buried by her relatives in the village cemetery.
