Syria-Turkey border | “Essential Protection Forces” dig trenches and erect soil barriers near Turkish border in Derbasiyah countryside

SOHR sources have reported that “Essential Protection Forces,” which are formed to protect neighbourhoods during wars and crises, have for several days been erecting soil barriers, digging trenches and putting barricades in neighbourhoods and areas adjacent to the Turkish border in Derbasiyah city, north of Al-Hasakah, with no involvement by SDF in these measures.

These military measures come, although there are no Turkish military operations across the border.

This comes as Turkey’s media threats to launch a military operation on north-eastern areas of Syria

It is worth noting that the frontlines between SDF and regime forces on the one hand and Turkish forces and National Army factions on the other hand in the countryside of Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah have witnessed ongoing caution calm, compared to the beginning of the Turkish media’s military escalation and daily bombardment in the region.

However, this military escalation decreased significantly, while Russian forces conduct almost daily patrols amid flights by Russian helicopters and aircraft over the area.
