De-escalation zone | Regime forces and jihadist groups trade fire on Jabal Al-Akrad frontline amid flight by Russian reconnaissance aircraft

SOHR activists have reported seeing Russian reconnaissance aircraft flying over Jabal Al-Kurdad in northern countryside of Latakia and Jabal Al-Zawiyah, south of Idlib and Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western countryside of Hama.

This flight by Russian reconnaissance aircraft coincides with shelling and exchange of heavy and medium machine guns on Al-Kabbanah frontline in Jabal Al-Akrad between jihadist groups and regime forces.

Meanwhile, regime forces have bombarded areas in Fulayfel, Bayannin and Safohn in Jabal Al-Zawiyah. However, no casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, SOHR activists in the “de-escalation” zone reported clashes with light, medium and heavy weapons between regime forces and their proxies on the one hand, and Al-Jabah Al-Wataniyah Le Al-Tahreer factions on the other hand, on Al-Amqiyah and Al-Fatatrah frontlines in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western Hama countryside, in an attack waged by regime forces in the early hours of Saturday morning and the factions operating in the area repelled the attack. No casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, the area has also witnessed an exchange of shelling between regime forces and the rebels.
