Old ordnance | Two siblings killed and two civilians injured in landmine explosion in Salamiyah countryside east of Hama

SOHR activists have documented the death of two siblings and the injury of two civilians due to the explosion of an old landmine at Abu Lafa checkpoint north of Al-Rahjan in the north-eastern countryside of Salamiyah, east of Hama.

Meanwhile, three civilians, including a child, have been injured by the explosion of an unknown object in Al-Aziziyah neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah.

 

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 127 civilians, including six women and 54 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 192 civilians, including 11 women and 97 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
