On March 29, 2022, two Iranian nuclear scientists arrived for research in phosphate fields area controlled by Iranian-backed militias south of Palmyra, Reliable sources told SOHR.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the two Iranian scientists move between Al-Sawwanah site and another site known as “Al-Kimawi Battalion” in the eastern Palmyra mountain range, in the eastern Homs desert through basements dug into the ground.
