Rising cases of abandoned new-born babies | Residents find baby girl in Homs city

SOHR activists have reported that people had found a new-born girl near a building in Bab Hood neighbourhood in Homs.

The baby girl has been brought to Al-Basil hospital in Al-Zahraa neighbourhood and placed in the incubator. The baby is now in a stable health condition.

This comes in light of the alarming increase in the number of abandoned new-born babies throughout Syria.

On June 22, SOHR activists reported that residents found a newborn girl dumped near Al-Hasob garden in Aleppo Al-Jadidah neighbourhood in Aleppo city, in regime-held areas.

According to reliable SOHR sources, two women left the baby near the chamber of the garden’s guard and then fled away.

Local sources managed to identify the baby after investigations and handed it to the father.

Moreover, the two women were identified as the baby’s mother and aunt, who have been missing from their house for nearly a month.
