Turkish-backed factions violations | “Al-Sham Corps” arrests civilian from Shirawa district, while “Military Police” release man for ransom in Afrin

SOHR activists have reported that a patrol affiliated with “Al-Sham Corps” faction, which is close to Turkish intelligence, arrested a civilian from Baiya’h village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, under the pretext of harbouring a relative from Turkey without informing the faction’s security services, demanding his family to pay a large ransom for his release on June 16.

Meanwhile, “Military Police” in Afrin released a civilian from Al-Zarbah in Aleppo countryside for a ransom of 500 USD.

The man was arrested for “going out on guard shifts during Autonomous Administration’s control over Afrin” on June 10.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that a patrol of the Turkish-backed Luwaa Al-Waqas arrested a civilian from Marwaniyah Tahtany village in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside on June 24, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”, to collect ransoms.

On the other hand, members of a Military Police patrol arrested two civilians from “Zaytonaka” village in Shiran district in Afrin countryside, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”, and they were released after their parents paid 500 USDs ransoms for each of them.
