To collect ransoms | “National Army” factions assault civilian and arrest others in Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish-backed factions in Afrin city and its countryside continue committing violations against properties of forcefully displaced civilians of Afrin by illegally selling properties, overtaking commercial stores and assaulting civilians for unrealistic reasons.

On the same context, SOHR activists reported that members of Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah faction severely beat a civilian, who lives in Afrin city and works as a taxi driver, from Darkreh in Ma’batly district on June 26, for “blocking the road for a military vehicle”.

The civilian suffered bruises in different areas of his body, and he was forced to pay 200 USDs ransoms for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”

On the other hand, members of Al-Sham Legion severely beat three civilians from Ba’ya village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, opened fire in the air to intimidate civilians and took the civilians to the infamous Iska prison, without knowing the charges pressed against them.

On June 17, two members of Jaish Al-Sharqiyah severely beat a civilian from Sandyanka village in Jinderes district in Afrin countryside, took his money, motorbike and cellular phone and tied him to an olive tree, and although the civilian issued an official complaint to the faction, the faction refused registering his complaint.

Moreover, a member of Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyah overtook a commercial store in the centre of Afrin city, and rented it for 50 USDs per month. The store belonged to a civilian from Atmanly village in Rajo district.

On the same context, a member of Luwaa Al-Shamal sold a house near Nairoz Square for 2,500 USDs. The house belonged to a civilian from Bulbul district.
