Anti-ISIS campaign | SDF backed by Coalition helicopters arrests ISIS cell leader in Al-Shaddadi countryside south of Al-Hasakah

SDF special forces, backed by International coalition helicopters, have raided Al-Gharb village in the countryside of Al-Shaddadi city in southern Al-Hasakah countryside, arresting the leader of an ISIS cell, SOHR sources reported.

The arrested leader was in charge of planting IEDs and targeting SDF military vehicles earlier in the area.

On June 26, SOHR activists reported that as SDF and International Coalition forces continue their escalating security campaigns against ISIS cells and affiliates in areas controlled by Autonomous Administration, SOHR activists reported three new security operations in 48 hours.

In the past hours on June 26, SDF, accompanied by Coalition forces, carried out a security campaign in Gharib and Muayjil deserts, in Sour area, north of Deir Ezzor, targeting an ISIS cell, and helicopters targeted the area with machine guns amid information that at least two ISIS leaders had been killed.

In another operation also witnessed in Deir Ezzor after midnight, a SDF patrol backed by Coalition forces carried out an airdrop in Al-Jaradhi town, east of Deir Ezzor, arresting at least four people on charges of “belonging to ISIS.”

While the third security operation was carried out by SDF special forces and coalition helicopters in Al-Aziziyah neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah, arresting a local ISIS leader who was transporting motorcycles and explosive devices to areas in north-eastern Syria and smuggling former ISIS members and families from Al-Hawl.
