New joint patrol | Russian and Turkish forces tour border area in Al-Hasakah countryside

SOHR activists have reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah on Thursday morning.

The patrol of eight Turkish and Russian vehicles set off from Shirik crossing west of Al-Darbasiyah amid flights by two Russian helicopters over the area.

The patrol toured villages in the western and southern countryside of Al-Derbasiya and they are: Delik, Quneitra, Qurmaniyah, Ghanamiyeh, Tel Kadish and Karbatli, then headed to villages east of the town to the western countryside of Amuda, specifically villages of Al-Jadidah, Tel Tiri, Tel Karmah, Abu Jaradi, Khaski, Madawarah, Madawra, Khankah, Kharazah, and Bahirah.

The Turkish vehicles returned to Turkish territories via the same crossing, while Russian troops returned to their base at Al-Qamishli airport.

On June 16, SOHR activists reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a new military patrol in northern countryside of Al-Hasakah.

The joint patrol of eight Turkish and Russian military vehicles set off from Shirik village, west of Al-Darbasiyah, and toured the villages of Delik, Malak, Abbas and Al-Aliah, and Dhohr Al-Arab, and reached Kisra checkpoint in Abu Rasin countryside, and then headed to Taa’lak, Tabsha, Baraka, Barkafri, Quneitra and Sheikh Mansour before returning to their starting point.
