The courthouse in the south of Damascus threaten a punishment that could be killing against the person who pronounce “kofor words”

Damascus Province: The regime forces targeted by shells areas in al- Yarmouk camp south of the capital with no information about victims.

SOHR received a copy of statement issued by the courthouse in the south of Damascus. The statement declared that, “after the phenomena of insulting God and religion in the south of Damascus, and after receiving hundreds of complaints by the inhabitants about the spread of this dangerous phenomena that calls Allah wrath on people unless they all do their best to reduce, then eliminate it in a land liberated from the oppression of regime and enter under the law of Allah and his prophet and ruled by Islamic Sharia. For this reason and after consultation with sheiks, scholars and towns’ officials the courthouse decided to apply the following procedures:

  • Everyone proved to pronounce “kofor words” (words that insult God, his religion and his prophet) in the public, he is going to be punished in the public squares.
  • The punishments conclude punitive panties of sending up and whipping in front of the public.
  • In case of repeating this by the same person the punishment could be killing as Tazir offense. You have been warned!”
