Al-Qamishli | Two masked men attack female political activist and threaten to attack secretary general of a Syrian part over his political activity

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR sources have reported that two masked men attacked a female political activist, after they had sneaked into her office in the headquarters of the “Kurdish Left Party in Syria” in Al-Qamishli city in Al-Hasakah countryside.

 

According to SOHR sources, the two masked men put a tape on the activist’s mouth in order to prevent her from calling for help, before they caused several cuts all over her body. The attackers also threatened to attack and punish the activist’s father, who is the secretary general of the party an provides significant political efforts in the region, unless he stops his political activity. The attackers also sabotaged some of the office’s contents before having escaped.

 

Meanwhile, the “Kurdish Left Party in Syria” issued a statement denouncing attacks on partisan “cadres.” The statement also stressed on the continuity of the party’s struggle until it reached its goals, describing the attack as “a revenge of the significant role of the party and its effective efforts.” Moreover, the statement demanded all security services and relevant authorities investigate the circumstances of the attack and hold the perpetrators accountable.
