Unfounded news | SOHR denies incursion of regime forces into Manbij city east of Aleppo

SOHR activists have denied the news circulated by opposition and regime media about the entry of regime forces into Manbij city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

SOHR sources also confirm that regime forces brought in military reinforcements to the frontlines with National Army factions in Manbij countryside, in accordance with an agreement with the Russians in 2019 stating that regime forces can deploy their troops at positions on the frontlines there.

SOHR sources confirm that during the last 12 hours, new military reinforcements of the regime forces, including heavy weapons and tanks, arrived and deployed in the vicinity of Manbij city, however, regime forces did not enter or deploy in Manbij city centre.

Yesterday, SOHR activists monitored the entrance of new military reinforcements to SDF-held areas through Manbij in eastern Aleppo countryside.

The reinforcements comprise busses transporting 250 soldiers, five tanks and heavy weapons within a military convoy.

The convoy headed to areas in Ain Eissa northern of Al-Raqqa through Manbij road, and deployed opposite to “Peace Spring” areas, which are controlled by Turkish forces and their proxies.

Moreover, the military convoy was accompanied by a Russian helicopter.

Earlier yesterday, SOHR activists reported that regime forces reinforced their positions and posts along the frontline with Turkish-backed factions in “Peace Spring” area of Tel Tamr countryside north-west of Al-Hasakah by bringing in more fighters and weapons.

Meanwhile, the frontlines witnesses cautious calm, but from now and then regime forces and Ankara-backed factions trade fire.

SOHR activists also reported that Russian forces stationed days ago inside Sarin airport in the countryside of Ain Al-Arab “Kobani,” east of Aleppo, also began expanding their deployment inside the airport by deploying more fighters and establishing new posts inside the airport.
