Deir Ezzor | Caution calm prevails in Al-Bokamal border city with Iraq after two-day clashes between regime and Iranian-backed militias

SOHR sources have reported that clashes broke out between a militia affiliated with Iran’s “Revolutionary Guard” and another group affiliated with “State Security” branch in Al-Bokamal border city with Iraq in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor on Tuesday, and lasted until Wednesday evening.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the clashes broke out near an automotive bread bakery in Al-Bokamal city centre and in the middle of the residential neighbourhoods

These clashes left a prominent member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia injured and ignites panic and fear among the people.

It also coincided with the closure of shops in Al-Bokamal city.

It is worth noting that Al-Bokamal city witnesses fighting for imposing influence over the city between Iranian-backed militias and regime groups, due to Iranian-backed militias impose their control over everything there such as the distribution of bread and water, and monopoly shop owners, shops, fuel, vegetable cars and snow factories.
