Second case in 24 hours | Landmine explosion kills civilian in Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq: SOHR activists have documented the death of a civilian, due to the explosion of an old landmine of war remnants in Harsta city in Rif Dimashq.

Accordingly, the number of casualties in Damascus and Rif Dimashq rises to two in 24 hours.

SOHR activists documented the death of a 13 years-old child and the severe injury of an eight years-old child, due to the explosion of an old landmine in a neighbourhood in Al-Zabdany town in Rif Dimashq in regime areas, where the injured child was transported to Al-Hikma Hospital in the city to receive proper medication.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 139 civilians, including ten women and 61 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 213 civilians, including 12 women and 113 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
