Death toll update | Three non-Syrians among eight people killed in Israeli attacks on military positions in Damascus

SOHR sources have reported that the number of people who were killed in the Israeli strikes on military positions in the surrounding areas of Damascus in the early hours of Friday morning has risen to eight.

 

According to SOHR sources, the fatalities are three people of non-Syrian nationalities and two “collaborators” with the Lebanese Hezbollah were killed in a position hosting a workshop for manufacturing Iranian drones nearby Sayeda Zeinab area, and three Syrian members were killed in military positions hosting air defence batteries in the perimeter of Al-Mazzah airbase.

 

SOHR initial reports had confirmed the death of six people, including three of non-Syrian nationalities, as well as the injury of ten others due to the Israeli strikes on Rif Dimashq in the early hours of Friday morning.

 

A few hours earlier, SOHR activists reported that Israeli missiles hit offices of the Air-force Intelligence service, the office of a senior officer and a car in the perimeter of Al-Mazzah airbase. Moreover, missiles hit positions near a security checkpoint in the perimeter of Al-Mazzah airbase, Al-Mazzah highway and an Iranian warehouse in the vicinity of Sayeda Zeinab area, destroying it completely.

 

Moreover, several cars were damaged. However, it is not known yet if these cars belonged to civilians or military and security authorities, amid confirmed reports of casualties.

 

It is worth noting that this was the 18th Israeli attack on Syria in 2022.
